Over the last year WCRS has been supporting the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) to raise awareness around issues relating to sustainability within the industry and we are pleased to be supporting the 2nd edition of the Good Practice Guide (GPG) for Recycling and Waste Management which is due to be released early next year.
WCRS sponsored the first version of the guide back in 2013 but since then there has a been a significant shift in how best practice is viewed within the industry, as well as some key legislation changes affecting how facilities management professionals control and manage their waste resources.
This guide looks at the key drivers and the principles behind best practice, giving practical tips and considerations for facilities management professionals looking to improve their recycling, manage their risk and safeguard their organisation’s reputation.
Tony Windsor Managing Director WCRS said: “We are very happy to be supporting this important update to the GPG to Recycling and Waste Management. Over the last three years there has been a marked change in the way the industry views best practice for managing waste resources and following the announcement of Brexit in Spring there has been much debate around the future of waste management policy. This guide is very informative and provides a great overview of the current issues, legislation and principles which FM’s need to be aware of”.
Support of the GPG follows on from our sponsorship of the 10th annual BIFM ‘Sustainability Survey’, which was carried out earlier in the year with the findings being published in a full report and webinar in September 2016.
Look out for further information and release date of the GPG for Recycling and Waste Management.
